Signita Boulders Lodge is the "heart" of Big 5 territory and is built around the elements. A truly luxurious yet authentic experience.

Boulders Lodge is located in the reknown Sabi Sands of Krugers National Park and is a place where you don't even need ot leave the lodge to truly see how the level of abudance that surrounds the area, for here nature comes to you.

The lodge is built to blend in and become one with its surroundings. ´╗┐Quiet ponds alongside the thatched lounge area allow light and the landscape inside where straw baskets, neutral shades and textured fabrics complement untraditional wooden furniture.

Designed with every conceivable convenience in mind, suites at Boulders Lodge offer spacious living areas. Walls of glass are the only element separating the interiors from the bush outside and of course, there is a Singita signature pool on the deck of every suite.

Luxury air-conditioned suites consist of sumptuous bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area with double-sided fireplace, mini-bar and fridge, private wooden leisure decks with a private heated plunge pool. All the suites have direct dial telephones, and the library has two computers and direct internet links

What To Bring:

Since we want your safari experience to be perfect and completely comfortable, we recommend a few items that we believe you should remember to bring along:

  • From June to September be sure to pack a few warmer items for cooler mornings and evenings. Days are warm, but a jacket/fleece will be needed for the safaris.
  • From October to December temperatures rise and cool, light clothing is once again recommended.
  • Try to keep colours neutral for the safaris. Dark colours such as navy blue and black tend to attract the tsetse flies and other bugs.
  • Comfortable walking shoes, track shoes or boots will be suitable as well as sandals to wear around at meals and within the lodge area.
  • Shorts or skirts and short-sleeve shirts for the warm midday periods.
  • Dinners are casual, except at Sasakwa Lodge which lends itself to smart/casual evening attire.
  • Swimming costume.
  • Sun block, sun hat, sunglasses and lip balm.
  • Mosquito / insect repellant.
  • Malaria prophylaxis (see our note on Health matters.)
  • Extra pair of correction glasses (if you wear them).
  • Contact lens solution and an extra set of contact lenses (if required).
  • Cameras, binoculars and your favourite film. We do sell film at the lodges but our stock is very limited.
  • Spare memory card if you use a digital camera.
  • Video camera and a spare battery. (Batteries can be recharged in your suite; electricity voltage is 220V. Power converters and spare video cassettes are available on request).
  • Each room is equipped with bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer and basic amenities.

 

Children

Children of all ages are welcome.

Adults occupying the master bedroom pay the full per person rate. Alternatively the second room can accommodate 1 adult and 50% of the full per person rate applies. Children occupying the second room (max 2 children) pay 50% of the full per person rate.

In the interest of safety, participation of children in any game activities (drives/walks/bike rides) is at the discretion of their guide.

Ebony Lodge offers 2 family suites, which include an en-suite master bedroom and an en-suite twin bedroom, a lounge area with a stone fireplace and a private viewing deck with a heated plunge pool

  • Flower-pressing
  • Game-spotting competitions
  • Nature quizzes
  • Ranger’s Test

On completion of the course, these proud achievers are awarded certificates to recognise their new-found knowledge.

 

Getting There

By Road

Recommended route from Johannesburg: N12/N4 to Nelspruit. R40 from Nelspruit to Hazyview. R536 from Hazyview towards Paul Kruger gate. After 36 km, pass Lisbon Store, then turn left onto gravel road. Pay R110.00 (ZAR) per vehicle and an additional R20.00 (ZAR) per person entrance fee (subject to change). Enter Sabi Sand Reserve at Shaw's Gate. Follow Singita signs to lodge (approximately 28 km).

Johannesburg/Singita Sabi Sand (5 hours 30 min) 500 km
Hazyview/Singita Sabi Sand (1 hour) 75 km
Nelspruit/Singita Sabi Sand (1 hour 45 min) 150 km

By Air

Federal Air offers a daily return flight direct to Singita Sabi Sand from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport.

There are daily scheduled flights currently operated by SA Airlink into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), situated between Nelspruit and White River. Federal Air provides air transfers to and from KMIA and Singita Sabi Sand.

Rates:

Singita Ebony Lodge rates are quoted in South African Rands and we have quoted them in US Dollars, therefore rates may be subject to change due to currency exchange but is currently set at a steady rate of USD = 7.5 ZAR. If you pay via bank transfer you can request Rand rates opposed to USD.

 

Cancellation Policy


All cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Your cancellation will only be effective once you have received our cancellation voucher. There may also be cancellation fees levied by third parties / our affiliates such as flight or transfer operators.


• 20% is forfeited upon confirmation plus bank fees incured
• 45% is forfeited 5 weeks to 3 weeks prior to arrival
• 53% is forfeited 3 weeks – 14 days prior to arrival
• 70% is forfeited 14 - 7 days prior to arrival
• 100% is forfeited 7 days priory to arrival, no shows and early departures
